About this Site

This site was originally put up in March of 1996 at the behest of students in Introduction to Modern Philosophy, Introduction to Values, and Special Topics in Cognitive Science courses I was teaching at Alma College. Students asked me to point them to resources they could use to research their term papers on the Internet. The movie stills on these web pages -- many of them -- I first used to spruce up and add a lighter note to handouts, tests, and quizzes in these classes. I have been collecting and using philosophy related comic strips, similary, to illustrate and lighten up the incredible heaviness of philosophy since the beginning of my teaching career. This site has grown considerably since those initial humble beginnings. I hope it proves useful to you in your philosophical research. I welcome your comments and suggestions. If you find any bad links, please report them to me: the Web is always changing. Happy surfing!
